Croissant Cookies are a viral cookie recipe that is storming TikTok, and for good reason! Croissants are stuffed with cookie dough and baked until they’re ooey and gooey!

TikTok Viral Recipe!

Have you seen the viral Croissant Cookies all over TikTok? I was skeptical at first, but once I saw Glo was making them, I knew I had to try them, too! The recipe initially sparked interest when a bakery in Paris, Boulangerie Louvard, began making them, but once TikTokers found the recipe, it was game over.

I will say, if you’re a fan of crunchy cookies, you may want to skip out on this recipe as these are fairly gooey, and lean towards being undercooked. I still say it’s worth a try!

Check out my other TikTok recipe, Candy Salad!

The Croissant Cookie, dubbed the “Crookie”, is made with only TWO ingredients: Cookie Dough and Croissants! While you could go crazy with this recipe and make homemade croissants and homemade chocolate chip cookie dough, I simply do not have the time and find that store-bought dough and croissants are more convenient. If you want these Croissant Cookies to be even sweeter, you may top them with powdered sugar, although this is not necessary.

Don’t get me wrong, when I first saw Croissant Cookies, I thought they were almost pointless. I mean, who would want to go through the trouble of combining two already perfectly delicious treats when you could just enjoy them separately?! Boy, was I wrong! These Croissant Cookies are SPECTACTULAR. The buttery, flaky croissant pairs so wonderfully with the sweet, chocolatey cookies.

How To Make Croissant Cookies

If there’s one good thing about a TikTok recipe, it’s always how EASY they are to make!

  1. Cut a croissant in half lengthwise, being careful not to cut all the way through. Carefully open the croissant without separating the two halves.
  2. Using two squares of premade cookie dough, carefully flatten the dough in your hands to be about 1/4 inch thick. Lay 3/4 of this dough on one side of the croissant, then close the croissant back to it’s normal shape. Gently press the remaining 1/4 of dough on top of the croissant.
  3. Bake in the oven until the outside of the cookie dough is golden brown and slightly crispy. Remove and allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if you’d like, serve, and enjoy!

Variations And Substitutions

Despite how cautious I was going into this recipe, after I tried it my brain wouldn’t stop running with all of the possibilities this recipe holds!

  • Use peanut butter flavored cookie dough for a flavor mashup! Sugar cookie dough would be great, too. You can even mix and match flavors!
  • Drizzle the Croissant Cookie with chocolate once it’s done baking for an extra chocolatey twist.
  • You may use larger croissants if you’d like, but I like the ratio of the mini croissants to chocolate chip cookies.

Tips And Tricks For Croissant Cookies

  • Don’t cut all the way through the croissant. The cookie dough on top of the croissant will be too heavy and will slide the entire top half off during baking.
  • Make sure the cookie dough inside the croissant is about 1/4 inch thick. If it is too thick, it will not cook appropriately inside the croissant and will leave you with a gooey, uncooked mess. If you’re a fan of uncooked cookie dough, you may prefer the thicker cookie dough.
  • Use precooked croissants so you can slide these right into the oven. You’re more than welcome to make homemade croissants, but I have not tested this recipe with homemade and am unsure how that would turn out.

How To Store Crookies

Store Croissant Cookies in an air tight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. You may also store these in the refrigerator if you’d like.
I wouldn’t recommend freezing these cookies.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 12

EQUIPMENT

  • Cutting Board
  • Bread knife
  • parchment paper

INGREDIENTS

  • 12 Store-bought mini croissants
  • 1 16 oz. package ready-to-bake cookie dough
  • Powdered sugar optional

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Slice each croissant lengthwise in half without slicing all the way through the croissant. Unfold the croissant so it lays flat and open.
  • Take 2 pieces of cookie dough and flatten it in your hands. Using ¾ of the 2 pieces of dough, carefully break apart pieces of the cookie dough and lay it inside the croissant. Once the croissant has an even layer of cookie dough across it, close the croissant and use the remaining ¼ piece of cookie dough and lay it flat on the top of the croissant.
  • Place 6 croissants on the baking sheet 3-4 inches apart. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until the cookie dough is crispy on the edges and golden on top.
  • Remove from oven and allow the croissants to rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired. Serve and enjoy!

NOTES

Store in an air tight container at room temperature for 3-4 days. I would not recommend freezing this recipe.
You can use large croissants instead of mini.
You can use different flavor cookie dough, like peanut butter or sugar cookie.
