This Lazy Lasagna is an easy option when you just aren’t feeling like cooking dinner! While it’s not your typical lasagna made with layers of ricotta, noodles, sauce, and extra cheese, this is perfect for when you’re in a pinch or don’t feel like putting in all of that effort!

This recipe is pocket-friendly as well! Often times, you need to purchase sooo many ingredients to make a whole lasagna dinner, but with this recipe, you only need to buy 3 items! This meal can easily be under $20 to make for the whole family to enjoy!

Taste: Your mouth will be watering after making this Lazy Lasagna! This cozy Italian meal is loaded with cheese-stuffed ravioli that is coated in layers of marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese!

Texture: Ooey, gooey, warm, and creamy, this Lazy Lasagna layers tender ravioli noodles that are stuffed with cheese and topped with a smooth marinara sauce before getting smothered in stringy and melty mozzarella cheese!

Lazy Lasagna Ingredients

  • Cheese ravioli- This recipe calls for frozen ravioli but you can also use fresh.
  • Marinara sauce- Use your favorite brand!
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese- Pre-shredded works best, but feel free to shred your own.
  • Parsley- This is optional and for garnish only!

Variations And Substitutions

  • Fresh ravioli may also be used in place of frozen ravioli.
  • Ground hamburger or Italian sausage can be cooked and crumbled, then added to the marinara sauce layer for an extra source of protein. You may also use vegetarian meat, like Beyond Meat.
  • When purchasing your ravioli, the size and shape will not affect this recipe. Circle or square, it all tastes the same!
  • You can make a simple homemade marinara sauce for an extra flavorful touch!
  • You can sneak some chopped spinach into the sauce or cheese layer for some extra greens!
  • For extra seasoning and flavor, you can sprinkle Italian seasoning into the sauce or even across the top of the dish!

How To Make Lazy Lasagna

STEP ONE: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and spray a baking dish with non-stick spray. Spread 1/2 of a cup of pasta sauce across the bottom of the baking dish in an even layer.

STEP TWO: Layer 1/2 of the ravioli evenly across the sauce layer. Spread 1/2 of the remaining sauce across the top of the ravioli, followed by 1/2 of your shredded cheese.

STEP THREE: Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.

STEP FOUR: Bake covered with foil for 30 minutes before removing the foil and baking for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown and melted. Serve and enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 32 oz package frozen fully cooked ravioli used cheese ravioli
  • 1 25 oz jar marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh chopped basil or parsley for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 400F and spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Spread ½ cup of pasta sauce onto the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Layer half of the ravioli evenly on top of the sauce.
  • Spread half of the remaining sauce on top of the ravioli, followed by half of the shredded cheese.
  • Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for 10-15 minutes until the ravioli is fully cooked through and the cheese is bubbling and melted.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve, enjoy!
