The Proffee trend has been all over social media recently, and there are several different ways to make it. This version used Core Power Elite by Fairlife (affiliate link). This Protein Coffee recipe is not a sponsored post; this is simply the product we found to be the best tasting, with a smooth texture and maximum protein.

What Is Proffee?

TikTok Proffee is essentially a caffeinated beverage made with coffee and either a protein shake or protein powder and milk.

Why We Love This Protein Coffee

When made with the Core Power Elite vanilla, strawberry, or chocolate flavors, this specialty coffee drink packs 21g of protein in just 120 calories! This Proffee beats the heck out of anything you’d find at Starbucks! As a working mom of three littles who counts macros, this has been a game changer for me, especially when I’m craving something sweet!

Ingredients to make Proffee at home: bottle of cold brew coffee and a protein shake.

Proffee Ingredients

There are a lot of different proffee recipes out there, but for this recipe, we used Core Power Elite Chocolate and La Colombe Coffee Extra Bold Cold Brew. However, you can use your favorite brands. You can also make this with milk, whey protein powder, and coffee.

How To Make Proffee

Making this drink with a premade protein shake and store-bought cold brew is super simple. Simply fill your glass halfway with ice, pour in the liquid ingredients, and give it a good stir. Feel free to top it with whipped cream and chocolate or caramel drizzle if you want that coffee shop-like finish.

Proffee Benefits

Disclaimer: While it’s believed that this drink can aid in losing weight, it is not a full meal replacement. It is likely a better option than your typical Dunkin drink, but it still lacks nutrients that are necessary to consider it a full meal. That being said, if you count macros and live a busy life, this is a great snack or pick-me-up option to get a little extra protein in!

  • It’s believed that protein coffee can speed up your metabolism while also increasing your energy, giving you more stamina to get through your day – sounds like a dream, right?
  • Coffee and protein both naturally suppress appetite, which means you’re “hopefully” less likely to overeat.
  • Protein helps reduce cravings!
  • This particular recipe tastes like dessert, but isn’t overly sweet either!

Protein Coffee Add-Ins And Variations

Feel free to fancy up your proffee with extra tasty additions or variations that work for your lifestyle!

  • Use your go-to protein shake in your favorite flavor.
  • Use espresso to make a protein latte.
  • If using powder, you can mix with just the coffee and enjoy black or add in your favorite milk product for a stronger coffee flavor.
  • Feel free to amp up the flavor with flavored simple syrups – we love vanilla and Brown Sugar Syrup!

Can You Make Proffee Hot?

Yes, you can make hot or iced protein coffee. Go ahead and warm or steam the protein shake and mix it with hot coffee instead of cold brew. You can also whisk protein powder into hot or steamed milk and add hot coffee.
