- You can use Homemade Ranch Seasoning rather than storebought ranch seasoning.
- To cut back on carbs, you can use a lettuce wrap instead of hamburger buns for the sandwich.
- Regular coleslaw can be used in place of ranch coleslaw.
- Serve this shredded chicken on a bed of rice or egg noodles for a cozy comfort meal.

How To Make BBQ Ranch Chicken Sandwiches
STEP ONE: Place your chicken in the bottom of your slow cooker. Sprinkle ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika evenly across the chicken. Top the seasonings with BBQ sauce. Place the lid on the crockpot and allow to cook for 4-6 hours.

STEP TWO: Remove the chicken breast from the crockpot and shred. Once fully shredded, return the chicken to the crockpot and stir to coat in the sauce. Drizzle the shredded chicken with ranch dressing, if desired.

STEP THREE: To make the coleslaw, combine mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, and ranch seasoning until well combined, then add the coleslaw mix and stir to coat.

STEP FOUR: Assemble your sandwiches and enjoy!

FAQ’s
How Long Does Raw Chicken Take To Cook In A Slow Cooker?
Typically, raw chicken will take about 4 hours on high and 6 hours on low to cook. However, the time can vary slightly depending on how large and thick the chicken is.
To be sure chicken is cooked to a safe temperature for eating, I’d recommend using a kitchen thermometer. Use the thermometer by inserting it into the thickest part of the chicken; once it reads 165 degrees F the chicken is safe for eating.
How Do I Shred The Chicken?
To shred the chicken, you can use two forks and use a digging motion in the chicken to rip it to shreds. You can also use meat claws, or a stand/hand mixer. To use the mixers, place the chicken in a large bowl and use the paddle attachment if you are using a stand mixer. Mix the chicken until it has shredded to your preferred size.
How Can I Tell If The Chicken Is Cooked Properly?
When the chicken is fully cooked, the internal temperature will read as 165 degrees F. If you have overcooked the chicken, it will have a gummy and chewy texture and be more difficult to shred.
Storage Instructions
Store any leftovers in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. If freezing this recipe, allow the chicken to come to room temperature before freezing. I would not recommend freezing the coleslaw and instead make it fresh.
When reheating BBQ Ranch Chicken, microwave in a microwave-safe bowl or on the stovetop over low-medium heat.
