Peeps Dirt Cup Ingredients

Oreo Cookies– You want these crushed very fine to resemble dirt.

Instant Pudding– I recommend using white chocolate, cheesecake, or vanilla for this recipe.

Milk– You need this to make your pudding.

Cool Whip– This is used to add to the pudding by giving it a lighter and fluffier texture.

Gel Food Coloring– I used pink and yellow for this recipe. Use any color you want!

Shredded Coconut– This becomes the grass on top of the pudding cups once assembled.

Mini Cadbury Eggs– What is an Easter treat without Cadbury Eggs, anyway?

Peeps Marshmallows– The star of the show!

Variations and Substitutions

  • Swap Classic Oreos for Golden Oreos, Lemon Oreos, or something festive like their Limited Edition Carrot Cake.
  • You can use any pudding flavor you want. The white-colored pudding is easier to dye with food coloring, but you can also use flavors such as lemon, chocolate, pistachio, coconut, or even banana cream.
  • Sprinkles can be used in place of coconut shreds.

From their creamy pudding layers to their crunchy cookie crumbs to their playful Peeps marshmallows, every element of these treats is designed to bring a smile to your face. Whether you’re serving them at an Easter gathering or enjoying them with your family at home, Peeps Dirt Cups are sure to become a beloved Easter tradition that you’ll look forward to year after year.

All About These Peeps Cups

Taste: Anybody with a sweet tooth will love these Peeps Dirt Cups! White chocolate pudding pairs perfectly with crushed Oreos, and the coconut shreds on top provide a sweet and springy pop! The Peeps marshmallow on top ties everything together and has adults and children alike begging for a second cup!

Texture: Each bite is delightful, alternating creamy pudding, crunchy cookie crumbs, and soft, pillowy marshmallows! The pudding is smooth and velvety. Meanwhile, the crushed cookies mimic the texture of real dirt, adding a playful crunch that keeps you coming back for more. And let’s not forget about the Peeps marshmallows, which are delightfully soft and squishy, adding a whimsical touch to every bite!

How To Make Peeps Dirt Cups

  1. Crush the Oreos in a food processor until they are fine and resemble dirt.
  2. In a large bowl, combine pudding and milk. Once the pudding is set, fold in the Cool Whip. Divide this mixture into two bowls, then add food coloring to each bowl. Stir until the food coloring is combined evenly.
  3. Divide the coconut shreds into two separate ziplock bags. Add food coloring to each bag, and using your hands, mix the coconut with the food coloring until evenly combined.
  4. Prepare your dessert cups, and begin by layering 2 inches of Oreos in the bottom of each cup. Add two tablespoons of one pudding color on top of the Oreos, followed by a second layer of Oreos. Add two tablespoons of the other pudding color on top of the second layer of Oreos, followed by one final layer of Oreo crumbs. Top each cup with coconut shreds, then decorate each cup with a Peep and Mini Cadbury Eggs.

Can I Use Different Colored Pudding?

Have at it! I like matching pink with yellow, but you may also use other colors, such as green, purple, blue, orange, or really any colors you want.

On the other hand, you may also skip the food coloring completely!

Can I Make This Recipe In One Dish Instead Of Individually Packaged?

Yes! Feel free to make this in a large glass serving bowl or in a clear baking dish. I would avoid containers that aren’t clear so you can see each layer of pudding and Oreos!

What If I Don’t Have A Food Processor?

That’s fine! To crush your Oreos, you can place them in a large ziplock bag and squish them against the counter using a rolling pin until they’re crumbled.

Storage Instructions

These dirt cups are best eaten the same day. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. If it sits for too long, the Oreo crumbs will be mushy and the marshmallows will harden.
